Abstract

AI and semiconductors are one of the hottest topics in recent industry development. Many key technologies were developed in the University and/or research institutes and eventually created impactful innovations. Analyzing the successful innovation from the University, it is critical to have a proper strategy to incubate the technologies, build a powerful IP portfolio, engage capable industry partners, and startup development/investment to enhance the speed and efficiency of the innovation. It is also important to lead this to the proper business model enabled by technology development.

In this talk, the speaker will share (1) the general framework of technology commercialization, (2) HKUST’s innovation and entrepreneurship development, (3) strategic IP management for industry engagement and startup development (4) industry trends on AI and Semiconductor development, (5) sharing the examples, and (6) suggestions.

Through PointFit sweat sensor, we help athletes to understand their physical limits through our predictive fatigue algorithm, alert them in real-time such that they can adjust their exercise accordingly and enable them to reach their maximum performance.
